"I have known Jo for a number of years and in that time she has helped support the Chiropractic work I do for a number of clients with her Pilates

Jo works very specifically to the clients‘ individual needs and abilities. She gets excellent results in a short space of time, with the improved core and muscle tone really benefiting the client. She also empowers them to be able to use Pilates as a self help tool.
I never hesitate to recommend a client to her.
If you are thinking about trying Pilates for the first time I would encourage you to work with Jo."

WHAT I DO

As a qualified level 3 Mat Pilates instructor, I offer a range of programmes and training styles. My aim is to guide you through every exercise, correcting and tweaking to ensure you get the best out of every movement.

I specialise in strength and flexibility, improving posture and balance, correct breath work, strengthening pelvic floor muscles and relaxing the body and mind. This in turn reduces pains throughout the whole body including the back, knees and hips. This is all incorporated into small friendly group classes or one-to-one private sessions.

If you prefer personal tuition then my one to one private sessions are for you. Here I can really help you achieve your goals quickly as each session is designed specifically for you.

Breath Work for Movement- is perfect for those looking to reduce stress, anxiety, menopausal symptoms, increase mobility or simply sleep better.

Looking to improve your athletic performance? Learn to breathe efficiently. This technique is used by many professional athletes to enhance their performance in their chosen sports including rugby and running.

Stretch and Relaxation- Designed to encourage clients to stretch properly. Learn to understand the importance of relaxation and how this can aid recovery by reducing cortisol levels and promoting a better sleep pattern.

A perfect way to send you off to sleep!

My Signature Beginners Course- Designed to help you build a strong foundation in Pilates and understand the six Pilates principles.

‘Mum & Me’ classes are focused on improving Mum’s posture, strength and flexibility, while your baby relaxes or plays on a mat by your side.

From here, we will continue with tailor-made sessions, tweaking and adapting moves as you progress to help you achieve your goals.

In Person

In-person sessions provide the benefit of verbal and hands-on correction to complement my attentive teaching.

Via Zoom

Many clients prefer the flexibility of online, particularly those who travel or have young children.

Correction and attentive teaching is still given, it is just verbal rather than hands-on.

MUM & ME PILATES

Focused on improving Mum’s posture, strength and flexibility, while your baby relaxes on a play mat next to you.

Specific focus is given to strengthening your core, pelvic floors and back. This will help prevent back issues brought on by everyday tasks like feeding and carrying your baby so you can build your strength as your little one grows. The relaxed nature of the class means that you are always welcome to tend to your baby whenever you need to. Don’t worry about your baby getting bored, you will need their help for some exercises, so there is always an opportunity for a cuddle too!

Anne Short

Group Classes

Jo is an excellent teacher. She treats each member of the class as an individual, encouraging and adapting exercises as necessary. A complete beginner two years ago, I am now a total convert to the benefits of Pilates, thanks to Jo.

Pat

One to One Private sessions

I have recently found Jo and had three sessions with her. She has helped me enormously in that time. She has helped me to do an exercise correctly , after doing it wrongly for many years. She is kind patient and generous with her time.
I feel lucky to be working with her

Neil Hopskins

One to One Private Sessions

Jo is an amazing teacher. Every session is different and her knowledge on the subject is excellent. I have been seeing her for 18 months and the benefits of the exercises have been significant.

Arabella

One to One and Group Classes

"I've attend both the group classes and 1:2:1's with Jo. Whilst I enjoy the group classes the 1:2:1's are on a different level. With Jo's discerning eye, exacting standards and focus on precision she ensures you put maximum effort into every minute. Exhausting!

Lucy

Group Classes

"I’ve really enjoyed Jo’s small friendly Pilates sessions, once a week, for nearly 2 years now. These mainly mat based sessions focus on building strength and flexibility. Jo is great at giving each client personal attention and making sure you are doing the exercises correctly. Would highly recommend!"

Claire

Group Classes

"I have been attending Jo’s classes for 5 years now, I was experiencing some shoulder and lower back niggles due to my job as a nurse, Jo has helped me with this and helped me strengthen up and I have noticed a huge difference in my posture and think about the way i move. I always feel relaxed and thoroughly enjoy the class. "

Emma

Group Class

"This is my third year of Pilates with Jo and it has become an essential part of my life. I have had back problems for many years and I had never been to an exercise class before but I have really benefitted from Pilates. I feel much stronger and able to exercise more than I used to. Jo tailors her classes to accommodate the difficulties people present, altering exercises for individuals as appropriate."

Jo

Mum&Me Class

"The class is fantastic and I have really benefited from being stronger and more aware of my posture. It has been great to be able to take my 2 year old with me and Jo is very relaxed and calm with the children. We still get worked hard though! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the classes. Thank you"

Colette

One to One Private sessions

"I’ve had 1:2:1 training with Jo for 8 years now and absolutely love my sessions. I feel stronger, fitter and definitely more toned and strong 💪. The sessions are varied and I can feel real progression. She keeps me on my toes and just when I think I’ve mastered something she gives the exercise a small tweak to push me that extra bit and get 100% out of each work out. I love the little tips for everyday life which I can work into my daily routine eg brushing my teeth whilst standing on one leg 🤣. Jo is a legend!!"
